I recently got a new laptop, YAY! My dad gave me his old one which is not so old and way more awesome than what I had before, but that also meant moving all my documents and games over. Thankfully, the process went smoothly, but this resolution ... I can see two pages in Word side by side, it's HUGE ._.

School's been kicking my butt lately. Since my last post I've done two illustration projects and three sewing projects. Well, two actually. I'm still in the middle of putting together my skirt, but I have shorts and an ugly muslin ... sheath, done. After the skirt there's still a blouse or tanktop and an aloha shirt. If you're unfamiliar with aloha shirts, they are shirts with aloha prints. Standard business attire here in the islands. I'll probably make mine for my boyfriend so he can wear it at work :P Or my nephew ... or my dad ... Maybe all three lol.

Sewing class is admittedly getting a little overwhelming. I've been skipping one of my classes to give me more time to work on my sewing. It doesn't help that some assignments require a serger and the only serger I can use is at school because they're $200 if I buy one. Granted I've dropped money for $200 things in the past, but I don't know where I'd put the serger. My sister's stuff takes up too much room in our bedroom and I already have to set up the sewing machine on the kitchen table and put it away when done. Plus, sergers aren't fun to thread. My teacher does it for us, and it looks so hard. It's not like with a basic sewing machine, you only gotta worry about the top thread and the bobbin. Sergers have the top thread, bottom thread, upper looper and lower looper and they each have separate tension dials. My head hurts just thinking about trying to thread one @_@

Illustration class is not too bad. My teacher is really lenient and helpful. I have a lot of issues drawing faces and hands ... and shoes, actually. Granted, for fashion the faces don't have to be spectacular, same with the shoes and the hands. They can be pretty basic since the main thing is that the clothes look great, but I look at the face and I think "Man, I wish it looked better". I'm sure I'll get better with more practice. I'll probably take some art classes next semester since I might not be able to take many classes related to my major (QQ) I might take fashion production though X3 My friend is going to show his line in the spring show, so that'll be exciting :D

Now, I can actually talk a bit about some video games I've been playing. First on the list is Darksiders.

With my AWESOME new laptop I can now play Darksiders with no problem. I'm not far into it enough to have a real good impression of it, but so far I like it. It's a little confusing though because at one point I was slashing at this boss and then realized I'm supposed to be throwing cars at him ... I'm still getting used to the controls so I can only slash at things right now, but I think I will eventually get the hang of it. I always did in Devil May Cry lol.

The other game I've been playing is Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns. It just came out last month for Nintendo DS in the US and will be released on 3DS next month. Okay, what I don't get with Harvest Moon is that this game has recycled the same mechanics (growing crops and raising livestock) and I still feel as though I have to get the latest one. I don't understand why I get so addicted to this game ._. I think it's the most interesting one I've played yet and certainly has an interesting plot, but I noticed that after Year 2 it could actually start to get a little boring since there's no love rivals and only one main plot that finishes kind of quick. That seems pretty standard for all Harvest Moon games though and they seem to sell fine :P Harvest Moon > Farmville, any day.

I also have Space Marine and Assassin's Creed 2 & Brotherhood waiting to be played. The xbox is at my boyfriend's place still, and probably will be until the end of the semester ;-; Whenever I go to his place I always end up playing Fable more >.> I keep playing it for my stories though so I know where things are and what not, or what the houses look like on the inside.

Speaking of Fable ... no progress on any chapter yet lol. I've been so bogged down with school (and Harvest Moon) that I never made any progress. November is coming up too and I wanted to participate in NaNoWriMo. Not sure how well that will turn out since all the due dates for all my classes are in November.

Oh man, November is next week.

This post turned out a lot longer than I thought it would, but it's been a while since I felt like I had something to rant about. It feels ... relaxing :3

Stories ... wat?

For several days I've taken small breaks from doing school work and trying to finish a chapter for my Fable fic, dancing With Swords. I managed to get one a couple weeks ago and have been working on the next one. Only thing is, I got a little stuck and my workload got a little difficult. It doesn't help that I've been distracted by another story idea. It popped up a while ago while I was drafting Dancing With Swords. I've decided to turn that idea into a story and will probably be posting that up some time soon perhaps. The chapters are supposed to be a lot shorter than DWS but updates will most likely be just as slow since I'll need to be in a certain mindset to do them :X

In other news, school is progressing well. Still have a lot of work but I'm progressing so it's now just a matter of sitting down and doing it. I recently realized though that I have an extremely tight schedule. Trying to plan a get together with a friend and when trying to figure out when I have some free time (like, lengthy free time) there was none ._. It's a little depressing.

That on campus bar is a life saver I tell ya
